our story
Grow Perkasie is a family-owned garden center founded by twin brothers Joe and John Koenig, along with Joe’s wife, Laura. The three first met in 2006 while working together in the Landscape Design/Build Division at Bucks Country Gardens in Doylestown, PA. Ironically, John also met his wife Bethany while working there! Serving as a middle school principal, Bethany leaves the plant business to the rest of the family, but you will certainly see her around the garden center on the weekends.
Following their time at Bucks Country Gardens, Joe, John and Laura went on to create their own landscape design and build company, k.squared Landscape, based in Perkasie – chances are you may have even seen their black and orange logo working around town for the past 15 years! After years of wanting a brick-and-mortar place of their own, in December of 2024, the Koenigs purchased the old garden center property on Callowhill Street and are now ready for their next adventure – grow perkasie!

Currently, Laura is the head gardener of a private estate where she refines her skills in seasonal planters, flower arranging, vegetable gardening and creating year-round interest with thoughtful combinations of annuals, perennials, and shrubs.
In the evenings and on weekends, Laura will be the creative force behind grow perkasie’s beautiful planters and arrangements. But don’t let her fool you – she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty right alongside John and Joe!

Founder & Project Manager
John Koenig
John Koenig earned a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Philadelphia University. While he initially planned to become an architect, his passion for the outdoors led him to pursue landscaping alongside his brother Joe.
John has always enjoyed hands-on work—whether it’s working with equipment, fixing cars, or building and planting landscape designs. He brings that practical, hardworking approach to every project.
With his background and experience, John plays a key role in turning thoughtful design ideas into real, functional outdoor spaces.
